On Sunday, June 21 we happened to be at Pinafore Park, in St. Thomas. There was a lovely Father's Day Car Show for anyone to enjoy. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day in the majestic Pinafore park, with lots of different vehicles to look at. Run by the local Lions Club with a $10 enterance fee for show vehicles, it was more than worth the cost and, in our case, drive to get there. With hundreds of show vehicles, we had never seen the park so full. There were many different types of vehicles such as: Novas, Chevy & GMC Trucks, Camaros, Chevelles, and Buicks. Whether they were bone stock or total custom, there was room and people to enjoy them. With us in our two-toned, silver & black 1969 3-doored Suburban and the rest of the traveling family in their blue, 1968 Buick Wildcat we had a great day. It's just to bad we couldn't quite get our 1964 Chev Truck on the road in time to have 3 of our many antique vehicles at the show. Oh well, better luck next time.
Holley Sunday was a gorgeous day weather wise for an outdoor swap meet. Colonel Talbot Road or Highway 4 was crawling with vendors, spectators and old cars. We arrived in Lambeth (or London as it is now considered part of) about 2 minutes after 7a.m and we got the last vendor spot. We woke up at 4a.m in order to get there by 7. A long day but a productive one. There were more vendors than I have ever seen a nice selection of used and new parts for all makes and the visiting crowd was equally as busy.
It is always nice to see many of our friends stop by and give us an update on their vehicle. If they buy one more piece to add to their project all the better. There are rumours going around that the Lambeth swap meet may not be there next year. I've been told there will be one Sept.20 2009 but it may be the last. Something to do about permits or insurance?? If anyone has any information, please let us know. Lambeth is a tradition amongst rodders and restorers and it will be a shame to see the swap dissapear. There aren't any major swap meets on our calander until Bothwell in August. Father's Day Sunday there is a nice car show at Pinafore Park in St. Thomas Ontario. The park is a beautiful setting to bring the family in the old car and chill out in the shade. We are not setting up our full display but we can bring a few parts for people who are waiting. Michelle This Sunday June 14 we are going to Lambeth swap meet on Colonel Talbot Road. The weather promises to be beautiful, sunny and warm. Lambeth usually draws hundreds of visitors and vendors. We invite all of our friends old and new to stop by and say "Hi". Maybe you will find that one last treasure you need to complete your project.
