Ancaster

10/21/2009

October is the time of year we think about storing our Classic Chevy trucks and Novas for the winter.  The indoor swap meets are appealing because the weather cannot be trusted.  October 25 2009 in Ancaster Ontario (near Hamilton) the Rodmasters car club hosts an annual fall swap meet and car show.  The event is located at the Ancaster fairgrounds with many indoor and outdoor vendors all automotive related products.  The club claims this is he biggest end of summer swap meet in the Golden Horseshoe area.  All you Nova, Chevelle and Chevy truck owners come out and maybe you will find more parts to add to the completion of your custom restoration.

Fall Lambeth

10/2/2009

Sunday Sept. 20 2009 Colonel Talbot Road was the place to be for automotive enthusiasts.  Hundreds of vendors showed up welling their automotive wares.  Hundreds more spectators/potential buyers showed up as well.  After a chilly start the day turned out to be sunny and warm.  Many friends stopped by to say hello, that makes us happy.  We reduced a little invntory and made some space in the garage.  I hope the London Automotive Swap Meet will contunue, there are rumours that this may have been the last.

Waterdown Swap Meet

10/2/2009

We got a 4 A.M. start on Saturday Sept.26.  There were a few sprinkles between Wheatley and London.  We were counting on the weatherman's forecast of no rain in Hamilton until after 5P.M.  The morning was pleasant,  many vendors and many more spectators attended the fall meet at Joe Sam's Park.  Some of the show cars got cold feet as there was not as big a turn out as usual.  At noon the dark clouds began to hover overhead.  This should have been a warning of wet weather to come.  We dared to stick it out a bit longer as the weatherman said rain after 5.  The winds must have been stronger that predictied because rain set in good by 2.  Packing up while soaking wet is not fun.  The morning was worth it.  Starting at 4A.M is tough but if you want to be there for the treasure seekers you make it happen. October 25 is the next early morning we have to look forward to.  Ancaster Automotive swap meet at their new location.  We are in the building with heat this year.  Looking forward to seeing you there.

I've been around cars all my life.  Growing up my parents followed Cascar and we attended many races around Southwestern Ontario. I've been married to an Awesome Car Guy for 27 years and we still have fun and excitement around cars.   Our children each have their own classic vehicle and it is very rewarding watching and helping them build and drive their projects.
