"Whatever happened to..." many cars and trucks have passed through our yard in the 35 plus years we have lived here. Looking back at the pictures I often wonder ... Whatever happened to that old.... Maybe some one knows what happened to the 1969 Acadian 4 door we traded for and then sold. Holley learned you cannot weld a new patch to the last guys newspaper repair. [that you could still read]. She also successfully rebuilt the carb and made her dad proud.

What's Old December 2020As the snow comes down today and I pull my hood over my head to keep my ears warm I am inspired. What's under the hood? - The engine. Here is a look back at engines from the photo album. I had Holley pick out some pictures from events from the past.
Here we have a Vintage El Camino for sale; Can you find our Nova Wagon at the fairgrounds?; another Nova Wagon and a 57 Chevy; Drag Racing. Usually Labour Day weekend is in the middle of Festival Season. Around here we look forward to Strawberry Festival, Tomato Festival , Corn Festival and Apple Festival. Not only do they have great car shows but the carnival / festival food is great as well. Recently we have added Zurich Bean Festival to our list of try to get to events.
Here are some old pictures from Tomato Festival and some more recent ones from Bean Festival. See you there next year? Trucks - Old trucks are the best - Great Cruisers and somewhat practical as well. Here are some cool trucks that have passed through our yard. 1954 Chevrolet 5 window . 1983 GMC Suburban. 1967 Chevrolet Longbox.
1956 Chevrolet Shortbox. 1981 Chevrolet 1 ton. 1955 Chevrolet shortbox . Bear the dog 1969 Chevrolet Suburban. 1956 Ford shortbox. 1938 Chevrolet cab. 1951 Chevrolet chop top. 1982 Chevrolet stepside. Remember when you CRUISED at cruise night and lots of shows were overnighters with a poker run or cruise on Saturday and the show on Sunday. I found these pictures from "All Chevy Weekend " around 1987 and they made me smile. Hopefully they will make you smile too.
Here is an old picture of my 49 in the "grey days". It looked pretty good and we used it for everything. Here is a picture of my 49 in the greenhouse with out other projects. Andrew's truck pre-build and the "Georgia " Nova Wagon we got from Otterville Jim and ended up selling after we got the "Phoenix" wagon. - they were both white so we differentiated them by where they came from. My 49 again with the tow dolly on back with a 53 Mercury truck I think - that is before we had the greenhouse outback. Remember Sunday afternoons sitting in the shade at a car show - oh, the good old days.
Dash PlaquesA 3"x5" or so work of art. Memory triggers for the drive there, the weather, friends you met there or made there, what you ate or drank and of course the classic that got you there. Send us some pictures of your favourite dash plaques and a little story why and we will post them for all to read. So here is my newest -Erieau 2019. Took my old truck, great drive both ways, had lunch at the Sandbar and ran into an old friend Ron and we had a beer together. Overall a great day. Dorchester in the early days - legendary! just ask Stass. KW Classic Chevy Show - Our 55 won an award there. Kitchener has grown so much that you woudn't even recognize the area where the show used to be now. Windsor Area Street Rods show - KOA, Harrow, Fogolar, and finally LaSalle -good times. 1983 Car Craft Street Machine Nationals in Syracuse NY. - The second really big show we ever attended - first with our '55 Chevrolet Bel Air. Too many stories to share here.- Our 55 was in Car Craft after that one - they took a picture of the Yenko Camaro beside us but I can see the roof and hood - in this picture that is a 67 Shelby Mustang- number 7 if I remember correctly. Muddy River Run - Car show- Drag racing and cash door prizes. Indy Goodguys and NSRA Nationals in Columbus. My 49 Chevrolet truck was fresh and we racked up the miles for a couple of years. Cruisin '92 Leamington Tomato Festival at Seacliff Park - beautiful location. Our 56 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery took an award in '90.
