Sometimes you have to balance likes versus dislikes and weigh the special features when choosing a project. Years ago I spent a good part of a year working on a 49 Ford coupe for a friend of mine. By the time it rolled out of my shop I was pretty fond of it and 49 Fords in general. I have also gone on record with my preference of vehicles with less than 4 doors unless they have a long roof. Today we find an amazing deal on a 49 Ford 4 door. By the pictures it looks like a really good car for the price. The engine is almost worth what they want for the whole car and the flathead comes along for another project or swap meet fodder. But what do you do with too many doors? How about a never built phantom ranchero conversion. I can picture it. The tough fabricating would be the rear gate but the slab sides and taillight treatment would look good in the utility application
