Years ago we flew into Cedar Key Florida and were greeted by an old Checker offering a ride from the airport to the downtown area. It wasn't metered but they took tips. The rumour was if you didn't give them something they wouldn't take you back to the airport.
Anyway the Checker cab was cool and left an impression on me. I love the classic styling and the indestructible construction . Some years they came with International Truck engines and later small block Chev engines. Picture it with 22's, LS engine 4l80e trans, dark tinted glass, grey so dark it is almost black...1967 Checker Marathon
